Last week @NickTheHorn donated some sourdough starter to me and I baked my first loaf. I've been feeding it again this week and I'm going to attempt a second loaf at the weekend. I'm nowhere near the level of experienced bakers such as Nick, Will and Tika but it tasted lovely and much nicer than anything I could have bought in the shops. My god it took a long time though. This weekend I'm going to give the proving setting on the oven a go and see if I can speed it all up a bit.
Who else bakes and what recipes do you want to share? I would like do more rye and wholemeal later but for now sticking to a basic white loaf until I get a better feel for the whole process.
